A Prayer for the New Academic Year

Loras faculty and staff kicked off the new academic year on Thursday, August 20 with and safely-distanced in-person and virtual gathering to celebrate Opening Day.

As part of the event, Chaplain Fr. Dustin Vu offered the following prayer to ask for God’s guidance through the ensuing days, weeks and months ahead:

God of the Universe,

We gather together as one family bringing to You all our anxieties, fears and personal struggles.

We lay them before You. We ask for Your guidance and protection upon us in this new academic year especially with many unknowns.

Please keep our faculty, staff and students well and safe. Help us to see Your presence daily in our midst and anchor us in Your peace and hope, knowing you are near.

As one purple and gold family, help us to continue supporting one another. Transform us into instruments of your peace so we can serve each other and serve our students well.

Trusting in your goodness, we pray.

Amen.
