Duhawk Profile: Kylie Holubar (’21)

Hometown: Solon, Iowa
Major: Biology
Minor: Chemistry, Music

I consider Loras my home away from home. I first visited the campus in high school because my older sister was a student athlete at Loras. I immediately fell in love with the community.

Loras is the right size for me, where I can gain a valuable education and become good friends with people in similar classes as me. I feel that I have truly grown as a leader and further enhanced my communication skills.

Loras has given me plenty of opportunities to get involved in clubs and organizations. I am currently the director of communications for the Chemistry Club, vice president of the Pre-Health Club and director morale for Dance Marathon.

Upon graduation, I plan to apply to dental school in hopes I will be accepted at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. I then plan to apply for residency in one of the dental specialties. I have always had a passion for this field and providing dental care to a community. I received my full license as a dental assistant this past summer and am also certified to take dental x-rays. I remember being very little and going into my local dentist’s office for the six-month checkup. After having braces in later years, I knew that I wanted to be an Orthodontist.

Kylie is one of the recipients of the Lloyd E. Meehan Memorial Scholarship and an example of Duhawks who succeed thanks to the financial support of alumni and other benefactors to the College.
