Dominique Jeter (’21)
Major: Elementary Special Education & Sociology
Hometown: Maywood, IL
I am active as a Residence Advisor in Residence Life, eDUcation Club, Forward Thinking, and Black Student Union.
I came to Loras not only because it had my major but the welcoming feel from faculty and staff when you tour campus really stood out. I initially did not want to go to school in the Midwest, being that I have lived in it my entire life, but Loras changed that. The beauty in the campus itself also appealed to me.
Upon graduation, I am looking to pursue a teaching position or something within the education system. Either way, I will be going for my master’s degree in administration to get involved in fixing things at a higher level.
What stands out the most to me from my time at Loras are the friendships and connections I’ve made through networking and being involved with organizations on campus. Having an active relationship with your college president is not something that many students can say that they have at other schools.
