Executive, Alumna to Deliver Keynote Address at Loras College Commencement

Loras College will welcome Wendy Schrunk, a 2007 graduate and vice president at Goldman Sachs, to deliver the keynote address for the College’s 180th commencement at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

“Wendy Schrunk is an accomplished alumna and she is only at the early stages of her professional career,” Jim Collins, president of Loras College, said. “She is an exemplary representative of Loras’ Catholic mission and servant-leadership lifestyle. I am excited to hear her inspiring remarks and pearls of wisdom as we send forward the great class of 2019.”

Schrunk began working at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. on the Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Mutual Fund Client Service Team upon graduation from Loras. She was named as team lead in 2011, overseeing day-to-day management of her team, before being promoted to vice president in 2014. Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals. Founded in 1869, the firm is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in all major financial centers around the world.

Schrunk led the firm’s efforts on client engagement for impacts of SEC 2a-7 Money Market Reform in 2015-2016. She consulted with clients on the impacts of the regulation and created materials and resources to guide clients through the historic changes. Additionally, Schrunk worked as a portal specialist on the firm’s Liquidity Solutions team from 2016-2017, and was focused on delivering Goldman Sachs’ digital liquidity investment platform to banks, broker dealers and hedge funds.

Since 2017, Schrunk has worked as the manager of client service for GSAM Mutual Funds where she is responsible for the service strategy for mutual fund clients and oversees client service for the firm’s digital retirement platform, Goldman Sachs Honest Dollar. She also serves as the co-head of the Goldman Sachs Chicago Diversity Network, which is focused on providing support for the firm’s diversity initiatives.

“I’m incredibly humbled and honored to have been invited to speak at commencement this year. The
time I spent at Loras College had a tremendous impact on both my personal and professional
development,” said Schrunk. “My continued involvement in the Loras College community as an alumna
has only deepened my love of Loras and my passion for giving back. I’m excited to share my story and
thoughts on how the class of 2019 can leverage their Loras experience as they start this next chapter in
their journey.”

Since her graduation, Schrunk has remained active with Loras, serving as a member and president of
the Loras Alumni Club of Chicago through 2012. That same year, she won the Distinguished Young
Alumni Award and joined the Loras National Alumni Board, where she currently serves as board
