Sarah (Douglas) Squiers (’89), the senior vice president of business development at Univision and a member of the Loras College Board of Regents, will deliver the keynote address at the College’s 183rd Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Squiers has worked for Univision Communications, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, since 2009.
“Sarah Squiers has been an exemplary alumna over the years. She has excelled in her professional career and consistently demonstrated her commitment to faith, family and the Loras mission,” President Jim Collins (’84) said. “Sarah always brings such energy, passion and enthusiasm toward everything she pursues. I have no doubt that she will deliver an address that will connect well with our new graduates and their families.”
Squiers received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Loras. While at the College, she was a member of band, choir, track and field, the Loras Players and the Health Science Club. She recently served as a member of the Loras National Alumni Board.
In 2020, she was named to the Loras College Board of Regents.
“I’m honored to be asked to deliver the commencement speech to the Class of 2022,” Squiers said. Loras College holds a special place in my heart and was very formative in my development. I continue to be impressed with the purposeful transformation that is occurring at Loras and how the Duhawk community is listening, learning and adapting. Our graduates, their voices and their futures are part of this transformation and I look forward to sharing some life lessons with them.”
Squiers currently resides in California with her husband, Todd Squiers (’90), and their two sons, Aiden and Miles.
