“Purple and Gold”

Michael Bagby, DMA, coordinator of liturgy and music, created an original composition to mark the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year, “Purple and Gold.” He performed the new piece in a new video that welcomed faculty and staff back to campus.

Bagby explained his inspiration for the composition came from his connection to the Loras community.

“I was wondering over the summer how I would answer this simple question: ‘what’s home to you?’ For me, it’s all about the people that are willing to be beside you, rain or shine. The lyrics were inspired by family and friends, which is what makes Loras feel like home for so many of us,” he said.
