Senior Spotlight: Sarah Zellmann (’21)
As we celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2021, we share the experiences, memories and plans of some of our seniors.
Sarah Zellmann (’21)
Hometown: Lindenhurst, Ill.
Major: Chemistry and Secondary Education (*Honors Student)
I originally came to Loras for a campus tour as I was recruited to play basketball. I ended up loving the environment on campus.
My Loras experience has differed greatly from what I expected it to be. I never expected to be a Chemistry Secondary Education major as I am now, but I feel that I’ve found my calling. I did not expect to be as close to my professors as I am or to have the amazing friends that I do. Loras has opened a lot of doors for me!
My best memories of Loras will be my interactions with my peers and professors. I have made some amazing friends the past four years and the close relationships with faculty have really helped me to be successful. My best academic memory was the feeling of accomplishment I got after finishing my chemistry thesis!
After graduation, I will be student teaching back home in the fall. I plan to take all the exams necessary to become a certified Chemistry Secondary Education teacher!
