In Pictures: NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship

This past weekend, the Loras Women’s Track & Field team made history – again – by capturing the national championship in Greensboro, NC. It marked the second consecutive team title and second team championship in school history. At the same time, the Men’s team battled to an impressive 10th -place finish in the country with their strong performances, including a national title by Mike Jasa (’23) in the 800-meter run.

No. 4 Women’s Track and Field Overpowers Competition, Wins A-R-C Title

The Duhawks put a 63.5-point gap on runner-up Wartburg College who scored 184 points, followed by Nebraska Wesleyan University in third with 112 points. The win marked the first time Loras had won the outdoor title since 1999. It is also the first time the women’s staff has been named the conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year.

Previewing a Unique Season of Loras Football

“In a traditional season, we have a lot of team and individual meetings to help get the team ready physically and mentally to compete. We have a lot of ground to cover and Fall Camp is a crucial aspect to our structure. We didn’t have that this year–our preseason was happening while classes were in session and we had to find times to work in practices, meetings, and workouts. When we are so used to planning in advance, the unknowns are painstaking, but I am immensely proud of how our team and staff managed it.”
