Hall of Fame Retrospective: Most Reverend John J. Paul (’39)
A three-sport athlete, Paul showed his prowess on the basketball court, football field and baseball diamond while at Loras. Despite the Duhawks’ 12-20-1 record on the gridiron during his years at Loras, Paul collected Iowa Conference honors as a sophomore. He would also serve as co-captain on the hardwood as Loras tallied a 49-28 record in four seasons.

Hall of Fame Retrospective: John “Doc” Kammer
Kammer earned his nickname while with the Tigers. When he spilled his medical bag rushing into the infield to help an injured player, his supplies fell on the field, earning the moniker “Doc.”

Hall of Fame Retrospective: Charles “Gus” Dorais
From 1914-1917, Dorais would serve as head coach for the Dubuque (now Loras) College football, basketball and track & field teams.

Urban “Red” Faber relied on his powerful right arm to establish a Hall of Fame baseball career. He showed off that asset at Loras College and set a pitching record that still stands today.

Best known as one of the acclaimed “Four Horsemen” of Notre Dame football, Elmer Layden would put his stamp on Loras College as the start of the coaching career before serving as commissioner of the National Football League.

Hall of Fame Retrospective: Edward N. Anderson
During his first season at Columbia, Anderson quickly established his coaching prowess as the team finished undefeated. He coached for three years and finished with a record of 16-6-2.
